I have been a CFO or COO with Start Ups for most of the last 20 years. During that time everything to do with start ups has become leaner and the finance function needs to follow. Start Ups don't need much traditional CFO'ing in their early days, just enough to avoid the banana skins and the mistakes that hurt you down the line. What they need is a Mr Fixit. Someone who uses experience, tools and techniques to help Founders build the business while grabbing money where they can and keeping costs down.

YOUR COMPANY FROM IDEA TO TAKE OFF
I have helped created several companies in both the UK and the US from scratch and helped take them to fully operational companies with products, sales and investment. I work with Start Ups to do this in the leanest quickest way.
YOUR PART TIME COO/CFO
I do not work with start ups as a traditional day rate consultant. I work on founder payscales + equity. I look for a long term relationship where I am part of the founder team, You get the benefit of a committed team member but the flexibility on managing costs. I get a stake in the company.
THERE IS AN APP FOR THAT
I use a set of software and services to keep things organised, avoid mistakes and make sure we are ship shape when investors come looking. This has the added benefit of radically reducing the costs of lawyers and accountants.
INVESTMENT
Raising Money is hard. It needs a great story and the best story teller should be the CEO. I can help with lots of experience of preparing that story and making companies invest-able. However, I can't perform miracles, I do not have a magic black book full of investors who will invest.
